Bio:

Dr. Angela Sousa received her degree in Biochemistry in 2007 and Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2011 at University of Beira Interior, Covilha, Portugal. In 2012 and 2015 she was awarded two postdoc fellowships from FCT. She is an author of 31 papers, published in reasonable impact international peer review journals, one book chapter and a national patent. She has an accumulated impact factor, with 308 citations and an h-index score of 11. She represented and judged numerous posters and oral presentations at national and international meetings. Her research interest consists in biotechnology and cancer research in order to develop a platform to biosynthesis, extract and purify a plasmid DNA vaccine to prevent or treat cervical cancer. Currently, she is working in CICS-UBI- Health Sciences Research Center at University of Beira Interior, Covilha, Portugal.
