George Par, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retina and macular diseases. He joined the Wolfe Eye Clinic in August 2016. A native of Long Island, N.Y., Dr. Par graduated from New York University in New York City, where he studied biochemistry, philosophy and economics, earning summa cum laude honors. Dr. Par earned his medical degree with distinction from the New York University School of Medicine. After completing an ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Weill Cornell Medical Center - New York Presbyterian Hospital System in New York City, he performed a vitreoretinal fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago with Illinois Retina Associates. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Par has published scientific papers in leading academic specialty journals and has presented to his peers at national and international meetings on retinal disorders. He holds memberships in several professional societies and organizations and has earned numerous awards throughout his medical training. Dr. Par is on staff at several area hospitals and sees patients in West Des Moines, Iowa. When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Par enjoys spending time with his family and miniature schnauzer, Ruby.
