Title : Codelivery of curcumin and quercetin- loaded nanostructured lipid carrier: In vitro assessment of mast cell degranulation induced by compound 48/80

Abstract :

Codelivery is a auspicious strategy to overcome the limitations of single anti-allergic agents in asthma treatment. Despite advancement, codelivery of two or more different functional drugs to increase anti-asthmatic efficacy still remain a challenge. Nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) was used for codelivery of curcumin (CU) and quercetin (QR). Drug release and cellular uptake experiments demonstrated that the two drugs were released simultaneously from NLCs and taken up effectively by the mast cells. CU and QR loaded in NLC exhibited a higher level of synergistic activation compared to free drug combination in vitro. Overall, CU/QR- coencapsulated NLC will be a promising strategy for asthma treatment.
